The latest version of WhatsApp for iOS adds a number of new features. Applying augmented reality (AR) backgrounds and effects while utilizing the camera via the app is an additional feature. Additionally, the new document scanning capability that is integrated into WhatsApp’s file-sharing option makes it simpler to exchange papers with others via the instant messaging app.
WhatsApp’s latest features for iOS
The WhatsApp for iOS app version 24.25.93, which was initially discovered by the feature tracker WABetaInfo, introduces a number of new capabilities. AR effects that can be applied with the camera are now available to users. In WhatsApp’s camera viewfinder, this option is represented as an image wand icon next to the gallery button. AR effects including confetti, star windows, tears, underwater, sparkles, and karaoke are available for users to apply.
WhatsApp also lets users change the color tone of the video and adds additional backdrops to hide the surroundings.
Direct document scanning via the app is another significant feature to the instant messaging platform. This option, labeled Scan document, shows up in the document sharing box. It has color, grayscale, and black-and-white filters. WhatsApp automatically trims photos after they are shot and lets you resize the borders. Additionally, if the document is properly positioned within the camera viewfinder, users can toggle the auto-shutter option, which allows the program to instantly capture it.
This development follows the introduction of entertaining new features by the instant messaging platform to improve the calling and texting experience in the run-up to the new year. During video calls, WhatsApp users can benefit from new calling effects with the New Year theme. In order to fit the holiday mood, it also released new animations and sticker packs.
