TVLine Items: Disney+’s Eragon Series, Triple H’s New WWE Role and More
Classic young adult novel Eragon may be coming to Disney+: The streamer is in the early stages of developing a TV series based on Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance cycle books, our sister Variety reports.
Eragon is the first installment in a four-part novel series, which tells the story of a farm boy named Eragon who discovers a dragon’s egg. When King Galbatorix learns of the egg, he sends his servants to retrieve it, forcing Eragon and the dragon Saphira to flee to their hometown with a narrator named Brom, who is part of an extinct group called the Dragon Riders.
Paolini will serve as a co-writer on the potential TV series, which will mark the second adaptation effort after the 2006 film starring Ed Spielers (as Eragon), Rachel Weisz (as the voice of Saphira), Jeremy Irons (as Brom) and John. Malkovich (as Galbatorix).
