Trump declared that all nations who had not responded against US tariffs would be granted a reprieve and only be subject to a 10% US tariff until July, following days of insistence that he would stick to his harsh trade policy.
The White House’s secretary said Trump had raised tariffs against China because “when you punch at the United States of America, President Trump is going to punch back harder”.
