Trailer For Across The River And Into The Trees: Liev Schreiber In The Hemingway Film

The cinematic version of Ernest Hermingway’s 1950 novel of the same name, Across the River and Into the Trees, has a trailer out now. On August 30, 2024, the movie, starring Liev Schreiber, is supposed to open in theaters.

In Across the River and Into the Trees, what happens in the trailer?

The teaser portrays Schreiber as a decorated American veteran from World War I who goes back to Italy to explore his former duck hunting grounds. The young countess, who is over thirty years younger than him, unexpectedly captures his heart.

Paula Ortiz is the director of Across the River and Into the Trees, which she adapted from a script by Peter Flannery. Danny Huston (Yellowstone), Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), and Matilda De Angelis (The Undoing) are also featured in the movie. Michael Paletta, Kristin Roegner, and Robert MacLean are the producers.

“It follows Richard Cantwell (Schreiber), an American Army Colonel in post-WWII Italy. Haunted by the war, Cantwell is a bona fide hero who faces news of his illness with stoic disregard,” reads the synopsis. “Determined to spend a weekend in quiet solitude, he commandeers a military driver (Hutcherson) to facilitate a visit to his old haunts in Venice. As Cantwell’s plans begin to unravel, a chance encounter with a remarkable young woman (De Angelis) begins to rekindle in him the hope of renewal.”
