This Year in the US, Motorola is Going to Release New Flagship Android Phones
Motorola is officially introducing its Edge 50 line of high-end Android phones to international markets. Additionally, the company is announcing that new flagship models will be available in the US later in the year.
The remaining models in the Edge 50 series are being released by Motorola, along with the Pro model’s expansion into additional territories, following its launch in India earlier this month. Asia and Oceania will receive the Edge 50 Pro eventually, but initially it will only be accessible in Latin America and Europe.
As for Motorola, it is launching the Edge 50 Ultra and Edge 50 Fusion across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania “in the coming weeks.”
The company’s flagship device, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and boasts other top-tier features like a 6.7-inch 1220p display at 144Hz, a 4,500 mAh battery, two 50MP rear cameras, a 64MP telephoto, Android 14, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
In contrast, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion is a less expensive gadget that runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. It comes pre-installed with Android 14 and supports up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It also includes a 50MP primary rear camera, however the only lens supporting it is a 13MP ultrawide. Similar to the Ultra and Pro, the 6.7-inch panel display has a curved design throughout.
However, what about the United States?
Indeed, Motorola confirms that it will introduce new Edge smartphones “later this year” in the United States. Based on last year’s pattern, they will most likely include the Edge 50 Ultra and Pro, which will be marketed as Edge+ (2024) and Edge (2024), respectively. 2023’s Edge+ had its debut in May, whereas the more affordable Edge made its appearance considerably later in the year. Motorola isn’t making any references to a debut date in 2024 at this time.
