This Year, a Redesigned GMC Terrain Makes its Premiere

Later this year, GMC will unveil a revamped Terrain compact crossover.

Although a release date has not been disclosed, the new Terrain is expected to go on sale in the United States in 2025.

A preview image displays a portion of the new layout. It mostly displays the tough Terrain AT4 model, showcasing the front fascia and headlamp layout.

The Chevy Equinox, which underwent a facelift for the 2025 model year, has a corporate cousin named the Terrain. The dimensions of the most recent Equinox are similar to those of the previous generation, with the exception of a 2.5-inch wider track and nearly an inch greater ground clearance. The same gains are probably in store for the new Terrain.

There is only one engine available for the Equinox, a 1.5-liter turbo-4 with 175 horsepower. That drivetrain is probably going to be in the new Terrain as well.

Like the Equinox, the cabin should have floating screens for the infotainment center and instrument cluster.

GMC has an eventful year in store. GMC will introduce the new Terrain along with the 2024 Sierra EV, its second electric pickup truck, the upgraded 2025 Yukon, and the revamped 2024 Acadia. GMC also intends to make its first international expansion, beginning in Australia, China, and New Zealand, and extending beyond North America and West Asia.
