If you are an Apple user, you may have encountered some issues with the App Store or Apple Music. On Monday, Apple’s System Status page lists issues affecting “all users” for both services noticed from 11:41 AM ET without going into details about the issues. In our tests, both the App Store and Apple Music are working normally, but users noticed problems within hours before they were fixed.
9to5Mac had previously reported that Apple’s privacy labels did not appear on many App Store listings, citing sources as saying that this is a bug that will be fixed soon.
Posters on Reddit have seen issues with Apple Music missing song information, Dolby Atmos and lossless audio in songs where they should be, while some have complained that they can’t play music even if they are downloaded to their local storage for offline listening. Some users stated that logging in and logging out has fixed the missing flawless audio features for them but not the missing lyrics. We were able to confirm the problem with the lyrics as shown below.
Now Apple’s status page has been updated, marked as fixing issues with both services. The timeline of the issue is now marked as 4:15 AM – 12:02 PM, which if set to Pacific time may correspond to what users have experienced. On our side, the song features are working and the privacy labels are back in place and hopefully your downloaded songs are playing again.
