“The Mummy” Trailer and Poster for the Re-Release
The official artwork and teaser for the recently announced 25th anniversary re-release of Stephen Sommers’ 1999 action-adventure thriller “The Mummy” have been unveiled by Universal Pictures.
The movie depicts a 1925 voyage of adventurers searching for riches in the Sahara Desert. Together with a librarian (Rachel Weisz) and her older brother (John Hannah), adventurer Rick O’Connell (Brendan Fraser) visits Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead.
The angry rebirth of an Egyptian priest who had been condemned to an eternity among the living dead is the embodiment of a 3,000-year-old legacy of dread that they unintentionally unleashed.
Despite receiving poor reviews upon its premiere, the movie went on to become a commercial triumph, earning $416.4 million worldwide on a $80 million budget. The movie’s standing has only grown over time, and it is currently regarded as a classic (albeit its spin-offs and sequels are not).
The film, which reopens in theaters on April 26 for a one-week run, stars Patricia Velásquez, Oded Fehr, Omid Djalili, Erick Avari, Kevin J. O’Connor, and Jonathan Hyde.
