Find X7 Ultra is the newest flagship device from Oppo. The two periscope camera lenses on the rear of this phone are its main selling point. This phone, like the majority of Oppo phones, will likely arrive in Europe later and in China before coming to the US.
With four 50 MP sensors on the rear, the X7 Ultra is primarily focused on photography. The 50 MP 3x telephoto periscope camera No. 1 makes use of a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor. According to Oppo, “this sensor is roughly three times larger than the equivalent cameras in key competitor systems, and is the biggest telephoto sensor in any smartphone.” With a 50 MP, 1/2.51-inch Sony IMX858 sensor, the second periscope is a 6x telephoto lens that offers greater zoom but lower image quality. Sony’s flagship LYT-900 1-inch sensor serves as the primary camera, while the 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor serves as the wide-angle.
There is a significant camera bump when so many huge cameras are mounted on the back. Even though the phone is a 6.8-inch device, the camera occupies nearly one-third of the rear, making it appear as though you will be touching it when you hold the phone naturally.
The phone’s back features an intriguing two-tone design, with a glass top and a bottom half covered in what appears to be fake leather. The black variant has even more eye-catching ornamental embroidery.
The screen is a 6.82-inch, 3168×1440, 120 Hz OLED. Although Samsung and Google are abandoning the long-standing practice of curving their displays along their long edges, the Find X7 Ultra appears to still sport a curved screen. A 5000 mAh battery, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC are some of the further specifications. Oppo offers 100 W of proprietary SuperVOOC wired charging and 50 W of proprietary wireless charging.
The phone ships on January 12 and is priced in China at 5,999 yuan, or roughly $845. Oppo promises to release a special model with satellite connectivity in March.
