The Chevy C8 Corvette Z06 Visualizer lets you build your dream machine
After a very long period of spy photos and teasers, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has finally arrived. If you missed a big revelation, you can read all about it in our first article. Or, if you want a summary before heading into Chevrolet’s Z06 Visualizer, this is the most powerful naturally aspiring V8 production car with 670 horsepower (500 kW). Of course, there is a little more to it than that.
To help, Chevrolet wasted no time in launching a pseudo configurator for the new Z06. We call it pseudo because it doesn’t offer a complete list of options, it doesn’t offer a price and it doesn’t give you the option to order. In fact, the website is still a bit shiny so it may not even give you a chance to change basic things like exterior colors or wheels. But that’s not the point.
The point is the Z06 continues to get excited, and hey, we’re excited. This car looks like an angry symphony orchestra spinning at 8,600 rpm with its DOHC 5.5-liter V8, so we jumped into the visualizer to create our vision of how it should look. Right away we choose the Hardtop Convertible because it’s the best way to listen to the engine and it also looks fantastic. The Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat is our color choice because the red Corvette has just something special, especially when you add the big wings and carbon-fiber wheels to the Z07 package.
Yes, you can get hardcore performance package with convertible. The Chevrolet says the C8’s built-in design is so rigid that it doesn’t require extra bracing with a retractable roof, so we’ll go with that. We also go with the new Adrenaline Red interior as there is nothing too red in the Corvette. Also, the visualizer keeps crashing when we try to choose something else. Maybe it’s luck?
Thus, our choice is the Corvette Z06 3LZ Convertible, complete with a body-color roof and bright red interior in a red mist metallic tintcoat. It fits with the Z07 performance package that adds carbon-ceramic brakes, larger rear wing, underbody stroke, winglet on the front side, although carbon-fiber wheels with visible weaving are extra.
How much will the car cost? The Chevrolet isn’t ready to talk about price, but considering the deck-out Stingray convertible costs more than $ 100,000, the Z06 will probably check in more than that. We find the target Z06 closer to the production date, which is the summer of 2022.
