Samsung Adds the Galaxy A and Tab S9 FE Models to Circle to Search

A few new Samsung phones now come with Circle to Search, a feature that lets users swiftly search for anything on-screen with a touch or circle gesture.

Circle to Search made its debut on the Galaxy S24 in January and then made its way to the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 foldables. It is now making its way to the mid-range Galaxy A series and the reasonably priced Galaxy Tab S9 FE line.

Along with the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and Tab S9 FE+, the Galaxy A55, A54, A35, and A34 smartphones will start to roll out this month. With this expansion, Circle to Search is now available to more people than just owners of high-end smartphones.

It’s important to remember that the capability is currently limited to Samsung and Google devices. This is a summary of the devices that are currently supported:

  • Samsung Galaxy: S24, S23, S22, S21 series; Z Fold 5, 4, 3; Z Flip 5, 4, 3; Tab S9 series.
  • Google Pixel: 8, 7, 6 series; 6A, 7A; Pixel Fold; Pixel Tablet.

The actual functioning is still the same. Either directly tapping and choosing the desired material, or by holding down the home button (or its equivalent in the menu bar), users can initiate Circle to Search. After selecting, a web search is started, and the screen’s bottom displays the search results. By entering text in the search bar, users can hone their search even more.

Without having to navigate between apps or type manually, Circle to Search is undoubtedly a convenient way to explore stuff that’s on the screen. The voice-activated search or search screen capability of Google Assistant allows users without this feature to still have a comparable experience.
