Renee Reisch is a Transformational/Mindset Coach and Creator of the V.O.I.C.E. Blueprint. If you have been around Renee enough, you will have heard the following statement periodically. In this article Renee shares her reflections and lessons learned from 2022.
“Being a catalyst for change is how we serve a greater good. Stepping up and using our voices is the vehicle to get us there.”
“As I think about the days gone by, I wonder what I could have done differently to propel myself further ahead. What I realize, is that I am exactly where I am supposed to be along my journey. We are all on our own path. It doesn’t make one better than the next. Scrolling social media typically shows someone’s “reel” life rather than their “real” life. I realize I am not here to please the world. I am here to make my place in the world through a voice of courage, confidence, and conviction. DO YOU and BE YOU so you can become the best and highest version of yourself. “Keeping up with the Jones’s,” is not my idea of success. It comes from consistent and persistent action. When you take the lead in your own life, you can become a better leader for others.
One of the biggest lessons I learned this year is that no matter where I am along my journey, it’s ok. It is about progress over perfection. If I know I have given it my all, and done the work, it is enough. I have always been harder on myself, yet more empathetic and compassionate towards others. Being an entrepreneur is not an easy road; however, when you surround yourself with like-hearted souls who also understand the journey, it becomes more palatable. Trusting the process, keeping the faith, and believing in my purpose is what keeps me going. Be proud of your wins, big or small, for they are all wins. Do not be afraid to reach out for help; is not a sign of weakness, rather of strength. Maintaining a growth mindset allows me to see what’s possible. Don’t get me wrong, there have been days where I have not always felt my best. I view these as nudges to look within and see what is really going on, and a reminder for self-love and self-care.
This past year has made me more grateful. It has afforded me the opportunity to spend time with my mother I never would have had if I was still working in Corporate America. Although I have spent many days and nights in my dad’s old office during our visits, it was always comforting to know we were just a room away. This is a gift I will always be grateful for. It is easy to see the things we don’t have in life and put ourselves in a place of wishing or wanting more. This also places us in a state of lack. Look around, see what you DO have and be grateful for all.
Gandhi’s quote says it best: “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” The lens in which you view things is always filtered through your own experiences. It is in changing your perspective, you change your perception. Do it for yourself and become an example for others in the process. 2023 here I come!”
