There are a few new features that add to the Defender’s elegance and some that should simplify ordering for customers as it moves into the 2025 model year.
The new model year offers packages that combine a number of well-liked individual choices into one. There are packs that improve driving performance, packs that increase comfort, and packs that improve performance in colder climates or when towing.
Some examples are an electronic active differential-equipped Off-Road Pack, roof racks, all-terrain tires, and a wade detection feature. An Advanced Off-Road Pack that includes off-road driving modes, air suspension, and other features can be added after that.
There are packages for the interior such as the Comfort and Convenience Pack, which includes a front console refrigerator, ambient lighting, and a top-tier Meridian audio system. Extra leather upholstery and 14-way memory-function heated and cooled front seats are included with the Premium Upgrade Interior Pack.
For the first time, purchasers of the extended Defender 130 will have the option of captain’s seats, which will facilitate entry to the third row. The captain’s chairs include separate armrests with heating and cooling capabilities.
It is also possible to order a matte-finish protection coating for the Defender.
The powertrains remain unaltered. Customers can select between a 2.0-liter turbo-4 with 296 horsepower, a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 mild hybrid with 395 horsepower, or a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 with 493 or 518 horsepower, depending on the grade. On July 3, JLR will unveil the new Defender Octa grade for customers looking for the best performance possible. This will be a high-performance vehicle with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that can probably produce over 600 horsepower.
The two-door Defender 90 costs $58,375, the four-door Defender 110 costs $62,275, and the extended Defender 130 costs $71,175 for the 2025 Defender. A destination fee of $1,475 is included in all figures.
