The Mountainfilm tour is the perfect choice if you’re searching for a fun night out that will support a non-profit in Montana.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Missoula Community Theater, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation will screen a number of documentaries from the Telluride Festival.
The national tour includes a stop in Missoula. Touring destinations effectively encircle the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. Other locations are found around the state in Great Falls, Helena, Whitefish, and Bigfork.
Although the movies are not based in Montana, they serve as a source of inspiration for viewers to go on their own travels. A teenage Missoulian para-athlete is even featured in one movie.
“This film ‘High Road’ that folks can go see the trailer for… Jack Berry, he’s a para-athlete and overcame osteosarcoma and he is a competitor,” said Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation Executive Director Clifford Kipp. “We’ve invited him to come to the show, he’s a strong yes and hopefully we’ll have him say a few words… Celebrate one of our own in Missoula on Wednesday night.”
On the day of the performance, tickets will cost $25 instead of the current $20. A raffle featuring outdoor gear, adventure excursions, and handcrafted goods will also be held. The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation will use all revenues to support its initiatives for habitat restoration and route maintenance.
On Wednesday, the doors open at 6 p.m., and the movies begin at 7 p.m. Visit https://www.bmwf.org/mountainfilm for additional details about volunteer opportunities, the Bob Marshall Wilderness, or to purchase tickets.
