Mercedes-Benz E-Class Will Introduce A Less Expensive RWD Base Model In 2025

Mercedes-Benz has announced that starting with the 2025 model year, its new E-class sedan will come with a rear-wheel drive option for customers in the sunbelt who do not require all-wheel drive. Later this year, the 2025 E-class portfolio will include the E350 RWD variant.

The base E350 will cost less than the all-wheel-drive E350 4Matic, which was the base model for the first model year of this W214-generation, even if Mercedes hasn’t yet confirmed the exact pricing. Taking into consideration the typical price increases for a new model year, you anticipate the E350 RWD to start at about $63,500; the 2025 E350 4Matic version is probably going to cost about $66,000.

Mercedes stated that through 2025, the six-cylinder E450 will only be offered with 4Matic all-wheel drive. With the exception of a lighter curb weight and possibly higher EPA fuel economy ratings, the E450’s 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine and the E350’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine both use 48-volt hybrid systems to generate 375 horsepower and 255 horsepower, respectively.
