Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance Introduced in India Priced at Rs 1.95 Crore

The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance is the company’s fourteenth introduction of the year, and Mercedes-Benz is on a roll. With AMG-specific design elements and significant performance modifications, this powerhouse elevates the well-known C-Class sedan to a new level, with a starting price of Rs 1.95 crore (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). Delivery of this performance car will start in the second quarter of 2025, although reservations have already begun.

Exterior

With its aggressive AMG design components, the new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance stands out while maintaining the iconic C-Class silhouette. Its muscular attitude is further enhanced by its larger fenders and longer front end.

The AMG C 63 S E Performance’s front end has LED headlights and LED DRLs, just like the C-Class sedan. Like the other AMG models, a black AMG insignia takes the place of the standard Mercedes star. A more aggressively sculpted front bumper and a grille with vertical slats are other features unique to AMG. Two electrically operated air intakes in the bumper and behind the grille modify airflow as necessary.

The AMG C 63 S E Performance comes with 19-inch AMG alloy wheels and aggressive side skirts as standard. But larger 20-inch forged wheels are also an option.

A black diffuser, two trapezoidal exhaust tips on either side, and a black spoiler on the boot lid are all visible at the back of the vehicle. However, the tail lights are identical to those found on the standard C-Class. It is further distinguished from the ordinary C-Class by the red-highlighted model insignia and the plug-in charging flap on the left rear fender.

Features and the Interior

Nappa leather with the AMG mark engraved on the front headrests is one of the upholstery options available for the AMG sports seats inside the AMG C 63 S E Performance. Additionally, Mercedes provides AMG Performance seats as an add-on. Additionally, it features an AMG steering wheel with rotary dials for choosing the suspension and drive modes.

The vehicle has the same 11.9-inch MBUX touchscreen infotainment system as the standard C-Class, but it also has hybrid-specific and AMG displays. AMG-specific modes like Race and Supersport are available on the optional head-up display, and the 12.3-inch digital driver’s display may be customized with various layouts or viewpoints. A Burmester music system and a panoramic sunroof are further highlights.

Powertrain Options

The famous 4-liter V8 engine in the new AMG C 63 S E Performance is swapped out for a 2-liter 4-cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine inspired by Formula-1, which produces 475 PS and sets a new record for the most powerful 4-cylinder production vehicle in the world. This plug-in hybrid system produces an incredible 680 PS and 1,020 Nm when paired with a two-speed electric motor on the back axle.

With a full charge, the 6.1 kWh battery pack that powers the electric motor can travel up to 13 km on electricity alone.

A 9-speed automated gearbox transfers power to an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, enabling the C 63 S to reach 100 kmph in a remarkable 3.4 seconds. The car has a drift mode and rear-axle steering for increased agility, making it ideal for thrill-seekers.
