Sports journalist Mazen Saif confirmed that the league…The Saudi league will be among the top five leagues in the world in the next few years.
Mazen Seif added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a national strategy and a national vision for its progress in all areas.
He explained that the Saudi League has become one of the most important leagues in the Arab region and the Middle East, emphasizing that this is only the beginning for the Saudi League, which will attract viewers and followers from all over the world.
Mazen Seif rejects the “politicization” of sports and emphasizes: “No to distorting the image of African football.”
Sports journalist Mazen Seif explained that neither the two teams, Nahdat Berkane nor the Algerian club, USM Alger, had a hand in what happened since the Berkane delegation arrived at the airport.
In light of the events surrounding the match between Nahdat Berkane and USM Alger this week, following the Algerian regime’s obstruction of the semi-final match under the pretext of including a map of Morocco on the Moroccan club’s jersey, opinions differed regarding the sanctions that Algeria faces for this behavior toward Nahdat Berkane.
The Competitions Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided the fate of the match between the Algerian Football Federation and Renaissance Berkane in the first leg of the CAF Cup semi-finals. RS Berkane won 3-0, while the Algerian Federation lost.
Commenting on the matter and discussing the legal status of the match, Mazen Seif emphasized that the entire matter relates to the interference of politics and sports, in a blatant violation of all current and well-known sports laws, which prohibit any political body from interfering in the jurisdiction and duties of sports federations, which in this case are subject to the laws of FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Mazen Seif added that the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which is the supervisory body for competitions held within the African continent, was unable to protect the Berkane delegation or the host team from political interference in the first leg of the football match. He pointed out that the Orange team played in the same jersey bearing the map of Morocco in all continental matches, and this is the same jersey that was approved by CAF before the match.
The sports enthusiast pointed out that the shirt, which Algerian officials considered provocative, bore a map of Morocco, and thus logically did not touch on Algerian authorities in any way. He explained in this regard that “the well-known conflict, as Algerian officials say within the United Nations, concerns Morocco and the Polisario and does not concern Algeria at all.”
