Maruti Suzuki today introduced the 2022 Alto in India following a flurry of pictures and spy shots. The new Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, which starts at Rs 3.99 lakh ex-showroom, will be offered alongside the company’s entry-level model, the Alto 800. Based on Maruti Suzuki’s fifth generation Heartect platform, the new Alto K10 is powered by the 1.0-liter K-Series engine that debuted with the S-Presso.
The manual transmission and optional AMT units on the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto will remain standard. The new Alto will be offered in four standard trim levels: Std, LXi, VXi, and VXi+. These levels are then subdivided into different versions based on the engine and transmission options.

Based on the Heartect platform from the manufacturer, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto takes design cues from the latest Celerio. Six other colours will be offered for the new Alto K10: Solid White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Sizzling Red, Speedy Blue, and Earth Gold.
The new Maruti Suzuki Alto will have considerable changes compared to the older one, including its dimensions. The most notable difference is that the new Alto K10 is longer and taller than its predecessor, allowing for more leg and head room. Maruti Suzuki has optimised the interior of the hatchback to offer more space inside, especially for its second-row occupants.
Comfort and convenience features have also been updated in the form a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted audio and voice controls, a 4-speaker audio system, digital instrument cluster, and more. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing door locks, seatbelts with pre-tensioners, and more.
Speaking about the most important highlight, the engine in the 2022 Alto K10 is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder K-Series unit that makes 65 bhp and 89 Nm of torque. The engine comes paired to a standard 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT, which helps the new Alto return a mileage of 24.9 kmpl.
