Madonna, a global pop star, has added another performance to her 35-city Celebration tour just two days after announcing it. It will take place at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
After the initial reveal of her tour, which was teased in a now-viral video that evokes an iconic scene from the legendary singer-songwriter’s 1991 documentary “Truth or Dare,” the new date was added “due to overwhelming demand.” On Friday, January 20, at 10 a.m., tickets for both shows in San Francisco, which are scheduled for Wednesday, October 4, and Thursday, October 5, go on sale.
“The response has been incredible,” read a statement from Live Nation Entertainment, which is producing the tour that will delve into four decades of her greatest hits. “… The tour toasts to the incomparable movement of individualistic celebration, creativity and cutting-edge innovation Madonna has created over the course of her career.”
Second performances were added in Seattle, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, as well as a third performance in New York, where the Queen of Pop began her career as a performer when she was just 19 years old. On October 2, the star will also perform at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center for fans in California.
At each performance, Madonna will be accompanied by special guest Bob the Drag Queen, also known as Caldwell Tidicue.
The pop star said in a press release on Tuesday, “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”
