There is an official release date for the live-action Lilo & Stitch film.
A live-action/computer-animated adaptation of 2002’s Lilo & Stitch was to be produced by Walt Disney Pictures, it was revealed in 2018. Dean Fleischer Camp, who directed Marcel the Shell with Shoes On in 2021 and Fraud in 2016 is directing this film.

On May 23, 2025, Walt Disney Pictures has revealed that the live-action Lilo & Stitch film would open in theaters across the country. The eighth, as of yet untitled, movie in the Mission: Impossible series has the same release date as this one.
While Sydney Agudong portrays Nani, Kaipo Dudoit plays David, Tia Carrere plays Mrs. Kekoa, Courtney B. Vance plays Cobra Bubbles, Amy Hill plays Tūtū, and Jason Scott Lee plays a luau manager, Maia Kealoha plays Lilo in the movie.
Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley, Zach Galifianakis as Dr. Jumba, and Chris Sanders as Stitch make up the voice cast.
“The Hawaii-centric story tells of the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who was genetically engineered to be a force of destruction,” a description of the plot reads, via The Hollywood Reporter. “With nosy social workers and pursuing aliens banging on the door, the two bond over a shared sense of family and win the day.”
While Sanders and Dean DeBlois wrote and directed the screenplay for the original 2002 film, Chris Kekaniokalani Bright penned the script. In addition to the first film, Sanders provided the character’s voice for a number of additional works, such as Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2005), and Leroy & Stitch (2006).
