Justin Bieber announced on Tuesday that he needs to take another break from his tour following a health crisis earlier this year.
The singer, who suspended his tour in June after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, made the announcement on the Stories section of his verified Instagram account.
Bieber, who resumed his Justice World Tour in July, said in his note that he was able to complete the North American leg of his concert tour after sharing that he had the syndrome, which left him with half a face.
“After resting and consulting with my doctor, family and team, I traveled to Europe in an attempt to continue the tour,” the statement said. “I did six live shows, but it really affected me.”
After performing at Rock in Rio in Brazil, Bieber wrote, “I’m tired and I realize I need to prioritize my health right now.”
“I will therefore be taking a break from touring for the time being,” according to the statement. “I’m fine, but I need time to rest and recover.”
According to the Mayo Clinic, Ramsey Hunt syndrome “occurs when an outbreak of shingles affects the facial nerve near one of your ears. In addition to a painful shingles rash, Ramsey Hunt syndrome can cause facial paralysis and hearing loss in the affected ear.”
