JMEV 01 Performance EV is Scheduled to Debut on April 15

JMEV01, formerly known as the SC-01, will make its formal debut on the Chinese electric vehicle market on April 15. Built by Jiangling Group New Energy and designed by automobile customizing expert Gongjiang Pai, this two-seater electric coupe is anticipated to cost less than 300,000 yuan (about 41,350 USD).

Design:

The coupe has classic sports car proportions, measuring 4,106 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, and 1170 mm in height with a 2,503 mm wheelbase. The aggressive appearance of the concept, which includes streamlined LED headlights, blacked-out C-pillars for a floating roof effect, and recognizable circular taillights, is carried over into the actual vehicle.

Performance:

For an entry-level electric sports car, the JMEV01 has amazing specs. With a combined output of 320 kW (435 horsepower) from its dual motor arrangement, it can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. CALB’s mid-rear mounted ternary lithium battery has a 520 km CLTC-rated range. Weight reduction was given first priority by the engineers, who used a push-rod suspension and tubular spaceframe chassis to maintain curb weight at 1,365 kg, which is very light for an EV.

Driver-Focused Interior:

A manual handbrake, which is uncommon in today’s EVs, is one among the physical controls that the interior uses instead of contemporary touchscreens. The dashboard is simple, with only the most necessary driver aids, such as parking sensors and cruise control, and a rotary gear selection.
