Is Setting Up His Record Label The Next Step For DJ Beyond?
Those in the music industry, may they be DJs, singers, rappers, or musicians, have shown a newfound trend of entering entrepreneurship. Pitbull has his station Sirius XM CH. 13 and Steve Aoki created his fitness application named Aoki Bootcamp. DJ Beyond is not new to entrepreneurship as he already runs his entertainment company called BeyondRest Entertainment. Even the business is not new since he started it way back when he left school. Exploring new business avenues seems like something that must always be on his mind.
“I know a lot of DJs who have started successful record labels. It is all about knowing the right people and following the right steps. I haven’t yet made up my mind about doing this because some other things also need my time and attention. The people I grew up with need me the most,” says DJ Beyond.
Like other DJs, he also loves performing at several shows a week but he also has a philanthropic side. DJ Beyond was born in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He was fortunate enough to carve out a good life for himself due to his family’s guidance but there were a lot of people not so lucky. To help them have a better life and stay away from bad habits, DJ Beyond always looks out for his local community and helps them in every way he can.
Being in the entertainment industry, Damian Perez or DJ Beyond has made contacts with many artists and musicians. These include Ne-Yo, Ariana Grande, Lizzo, and others. Seeing how they work and make music may have influenced him to consider setting up his record label a viable option.
He adds. “All my years working in the entertainment industry have taught me that there are endless possibilities in this field. Apart from DJ’ing and event management, there are so many things that I can do. I can start my record label, do my own Netflix series, or do a podcast on YouTube. Working in front of a camera has always been a very pleasant experience for me. Thankfully, God has blessed me with the ability to go all-in or nothing in everything I do. My award is proof of this.”
DJ Beyond has had a lot of experience working in front of a camera for many TV shows such as MTV’s Wild n Out, WE TV’s Bridezilla, BET’s Rap City, and VH1’s Love & Hip Hop. It shows that he won’t have a hard time if he chooses Netflix or YouTube over starting the record label.
His claim of going all in or nothing and acing at everything that he puts his mind to is also quite true. DJ Beyond has won the Best Blend DJ award by Urban Mixx Awards and was also nominated for the Best Duo & Blend DJ in the Justo’s Mixtape Awards.
The Multifaceted DJ and Entrepreneur have many ambitions but his sheer determination, focus, and good fortune will help him on every path.
