Instagram revealed that its largest update of the year is now available to users everywhere. While the messaging experience is the main emphasis of the upgrade, Instagram also made it simpler to engage with users via direct messages and provided new options to share and pin content.
Instagram’s Latest Feature Updates
Message Scheduling Capability
The option to schedule messages is another significant new feature included in the most recent version. If you want to congratulate someone on a particular date but are worried that you won’t remember, this can help.
Translate Feature
By holding down on the message that was sent or received in a different language and selecting “Translate,” you may now utilize Instagram’s translation tool. The original message should be followed by a translation.
Song Sharing via Direct Message
In addition to offering its users the option to translate messages, Instagram is enabling the sharing of songs in direct messages. To find a particular song in the app’s library, just open the sticker tray in a chat and choose the “Music” option. After that, you can tap the song to give your pals a 30-second sneak peek.
Ability to Choose the Time and Date for Message Delivery
By inputting the text message and depressing the send button, you may now schedule text messages in direct messages. You will have the option to choose the time and date that you would like the message to be sent. Reminders for different tasks can also be scheduled using this capability.
Option to Pin Specific Messages in a Group Chat
Instagram is enabling the ability to pin individual messages to the top of any 1:1 or group conversation, after the introduction of the ability to pin chat threads in a direct message box. By tapping “pin” and holding down on the message, users can test out the new feature. Right now, you can pin up to three messages per chat.
QR Code Feature
Finally, Instagram is getting support for QR codes, so users can use a customized QR code to invite people to their group conversations. The QR code you shared will be automatically added to the chat when your friend scans it.
Just enter the group chat and tap on the group name at the top to make a QR code invite. To view the QR code invite and send it to your pals via direct message, choose the invite link and then tap on the code.
