India’s Top 6 Upcoming Cars Launches In H2 2024
A number of noteworthy automobile releases, including a combination of updated and new models, will take place in India in the second half of 2024.
1. The Nissan X-Trail
This month, Nissan will make its comeback as a fully-imported CBU car when it introduces the fourth-generation X-Trail to India. Its first powerplant will be a 1.5-liter turbocharged mild hybrid petrol engine mated to an 8-speed CVT automated transmission. With its huge touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, and panoramic sunroof, the interior of the X-Trail promises to be technologically advanced.
There will be two seating options: five and seven. It is expected that the X-Trail will cost between Rs 40 and Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
2. Mahindra Thar 5 Door
The 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol engine and the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine are the powerplant options available under the hood of the Thar 5-door. A 6-speed manual or automatic transmission is also available. Enhancements to the interior include a dual-tone black-brown motif, roomy back seats, more boot space, and an array of features like an ADAS, 360-degree camera, quality sound system, huge touchscreen, and keyless entry.
Although Mahindra has not yet confirmed the precise launch date, the pricing range is expected to be between ₹13 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), and the vehicle is expected to be released on or around August 15.
3. Tata Curvv
August 7th is the official launch date for the Tata Curvv SUV coupe, which will be the first mass-market SUV coupe in the nation. Tata’s recognizable split-LED headlights, gloss-black cladding, and a svelte roofline will all be seen on the Curvv. It will be equipped with features including a wireless charger, a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a two-spoke Harrier.
A new 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine with 125 horsepower and manual or automatic transmissions is available as a powerplant. A 1.5-liter diesel engine from the Nexon is also available for the diesel version. First to market will be an electric model with a range of 450–500 kilometers. It is anticipated that the EV will start at about Rs 20 lakh and the ICE variant at about Rs 10–11 lakh.
4. Hyundai Alcazar Facelift
In September, Hyundai will introduce the updated Alcazar SUV, which builds on the vehicle’s 2021 introduction. Its exterior look appears to have undergone some significant upgrades, as evidenced by recent spy photos, which also reveal new dual-projector LED headlamps, alloy wheels, and a sleek all-black grille design.
The updated Alcazar’s interior will have a more contemporary layout akin to that of the most recent Creta, with two 10.25-inch infotainment and instrument panel screens. It will still be available with ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone climate control in six and seven-seater versions.
Improved safety measures will be added with the installation of Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). The 1.5-liter gasoline and diesel engines that power the vehicles will continue to be matched with both manual and automatic transmission options.
5. The Suzuki Maruti Dzire
After Suzuki just unveiled the new Swift, one of India’s best-selling sedans, the Maruti Dzire, is about to get a significant makeover. The 2024 Dzire is expected to feature components from the new Swift, including as a grille with a honeycomb pattern and blacked-out LED headlamps.
The interior of the 2019 Dzire is anticipated to have an upgraded HVAC system, a dual-tone dashboard, and a floating infotainment system. The present circular AC vents may be replaced with horizontal ones. A 9.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated seats, ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and an automatic parking brake with auto hold are a few possible key features.
It is anticipated that the new Dzire would have a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder normally aspirated engine standard, with the possibility of a CNG option. It is scheduled to debut in the latter part of 2024.
6. Citroen Basalt
The Basalt, Citroen’s newest coupe SUV, is scheduled to make its Indian premiere in August. A lower-spec model without alloy wheels, a chrome garnish, or a shark fin antenna is seen in the rear view of spy photos. Although the interior is yet unknown, it is anticipated to have a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The six airbags, ESC, ISOFIX, rearview camera, ABS with EBD, and TPMS are probably among the safety features. The 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine of the Basalt is anticipated to be the same as that of the C3 Aircross. It will provide 205 Nm and 109 horsepower when mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The estimated price (ex-showroom, India) is ₹12–15 lakh.
