The fourth-generation BMW X3 has been revealed, and it sports a host of internal and external upgrades. It now measures 4,755 mm in length, 34 mm longer than its predecessor, and 1,920 mm in width, 29 mm wider. Along with wider rails, the vehicle height has been lowered by 25 mm to 1,660 mm. Its upright front end features a noticeable kidney grille on the outside, while the interior has been overhauled with bars positioned diagonally and vertically.
Every grille feature is surrounded by a continuous line created by the optional BMW Iconic Glow contour lighting. The side lights, turn signal indicators, and daytime running lights on the LED headlamps now have overlapping, L-shaped light sources. Adaptive LED headlights with blue design details and M Shadowline lights are optional. They include non-dazzling matrix high beam, urban light, and cornering light capabilities.
Notable extras include substantial side skirts, a roofline that reaches deep into the back, and basic light-alloy wheels that measure eighteen inches with choices up to twenty-one. The design also features exhaust tailpipes that are smoothly integrated into the rear apron, flared wheel arches, and a flush-mounted rear window that is surrounded by side air deflectors and a long roof spoiler.
The 2017 BMW X3’s rear lights have a contemporary style with a current take on the T-shaped graphic and a horizontal bar with integrated turn signal indications. One solid color and eight metallic hues, including the brand-new Dune Grey metallic finish, are available for the exterior paint job.
Newly designed, electrically adjustable, heated sport seats with Econeer upholstery that features secondary material surfaces and cushioning are standard on the new BMW X3. BMW Individual Merino leather and Veganza are available as optional upholstery options. The optional Luxury instrument panel, made of recycled polyester with a fine knit texture, makes its debut in a BMW vehicle. In addition, the interior now features a brand-new curved display.
A 2.0L four-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor built inside an eight-speed Steptronic transmission power the BMW X3 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid. Together, they can generate 299 horsepower. With adaptive recuperation and the most recent version of BMW eDrive technology, the new BMW X3 30e xDrive can travel 81–90 km on electricity in the WLTP cycle.
With its most potent six-cylinder in-line petrol engine ever fitted in a M Performance model, the top-of-the-line BMW X3 M50 xDrive is an impressive vehicle. A maximum output of 398 horsepower is produced by the 48V mild hybrid system combined with the 3.0L M TwinPower Turbo engine. An eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive transfer power to the road. In just 4.6 seconds, the BMW X3 M50 xDrive can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph.
