Friday, August 2, is when Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will become live on Hulu. Fans can view all of the Planet of the Apes films, including the 1970s versions, while they wait for the newest installment in the series.
At the global box office, the movie brought in over $376 million throughout its theatrical run.
“Set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, apes are living harmoniously as the dominant species — and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows,” the synopsis. “As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.”
Wes Ball directed the movie based on a script written by Josh Friedman. William H. Macy plays Trevathan, Owen Teague plays Noa, Freya Allen plays Nova, Kevin Durand plays Proximus Caesar, and Peter Macon plays Raka. Ball, Joe Hartwick Jr., Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Jason Reed are the film’s producers; executive producers Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are involved as well.
