Huawei unveiled the Huawei Pocket 2, a foldable display phone with a clamshell design, in China earlier this year. When it was first released, it cost 7,499 Yuan, or about $1,050. The Huawei Nova Flip, the company’s first flip-style foldable phone bearing the Nova name, was just launched.
Features and characteristics of the Huawei Nova Flip
The Huawei Nova Flip’s thickness varies with the kind of material; when folded, it measures 15.08 mm for plain leather, 15.12 mm for glass, and 6.88 mm and 6.9 mm, respectively, when unfurled. The glass version weighs 199 grams, and the plain leather version weighs 195 grams. The 6.94-inch OLED LTPO foldable screen on the Nova Flip has a resolution of 2690 x 1136 pixels and can handle a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The display has a peak brightness of 1200 nits with high-frequency PWM dimming at 1440 Hz to minimize flicker. For taking selfies, it features a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Nova Flip features a 2.15-inch OLED cover screen with a refresh rate of 60Hz on the rear. A dual-camera device with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch RYYB sensor and an f/1.9 aperture sits next to the square-shaped cover screen. It has a side-facing fingerprint sensor for security.
Harmony OS 4.2 is preinstalled on the Nova Flip. The Kirin 8000 chipset and 12 GB of RAM power it. There are three storage options available for the flip phone: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. It has a 4,400mAh battery that supports 66W quick charging.
Cost of Huawei Nova Flip
The Huawei Nova Flip is priced as follows: 5,288 Yuan (~$740-$790) for the 12GB+256GB model, 5,688 Yuan (~$795) for the 12GB+512GB model, and 6,488 Yuan (~$910) for the 12GB+1TB model. Four colors are available for the device: Sakura Pink, Zero White, Starry Black, and New Green.
