Huawei and Chery Introduce the Luxeed R7 EREV, Which has a Range of up to 1570 km
The Luxeed R7’s long-range electric variant was introduced on December 19. This is the first EREV model from Huawei and Chery’s joint Luxeed brand. There are two models in the range: one with Lidar and the less expensive one without. The automobile is less expensive than the all-electric model, which went on sale earlier this year.
- Range extender Pro 249,800 yuan (34,250 USD)
- Range extender Max 289,800 yuan (39,700 USD)
The EREV and the all-electric model share a similar external appearance. Wheelbase is 2950 mm, and dimensions are 4956, 1981, and 1634 mm (l/w/h). However, the period version now comes in eight different hues, including turquoise blue, a new exterior color.
Customers can choose from four different interior colors, and the general design is identical to that of the EV variant. The 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel of the R7 is positioned somewhat deep within the dashboard. helps prevent glaring sunlight from impairing a driver’s vision. A 15.6-inch infotainment screen is also included.
Seats are equipped with massage, heating, and ventilation features. In addition, the passenger has a heated leg rest measuring 340 mm in length, as well as a zero gravity seat with an 18-way adjustability and a 10-point massage system.
There are two layers of sound and heat-insulating glass in the front and back rows. This also has a privacy feature for the back.
The EREV variant of the Luxeed R7 has a 1.5T SQRH4J15 engine that is supplied by Chery and serves as a range extender. The maximum power of this is 115 KW.
Huawei’s latest “Snow Owl Intelligent Silent Range Extension System” is installed on the R7. This can result in increased endurance and reduced energy usage. It improves power distribution and extends battery life through the use of four unique algorithms. This reduces energy usage, and the range extender’s operation is made smoother by a unique vibration suppression algorithm.
The quoted complete range is 1570 km, whereas the all-electric range is 251 km. The EREV changes to 400V, while the EV variant has an 800V design. A 200 kW electric motor installed on the rear axle powers the only motor version that is offered. Up to 360 Nm of torque can be produced by this.
A 37 kWh battery pack provided by CATL is included in the R7. In 15 minutes, this can charge the system between 20% and 80%. The R7’s EREV variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
While the Lidar version will employ the entire Huawei Qiankun system, the non-Lidar equipped models will use the vision-based version of the Qiankun 3.0 ADS system.
