Hongqi Tiangong 08: Launching on January 7
The Tiangong 08 is scheduled to formally debut on January 7. The 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show marked the opening of pre-orders for the car, with prices starting at 239,800 yuan (32,850 USD).
The Tiangong 08 features Hongqi’s recognizable split-headlight front fascia, which connects the higher light clusters with black trim. Defining its exterior appearance are hidden door handles, a full-width taillight design with L-shaped parts, and a red side-flag symbol with integrated side-view cameras.
The SUV is compatible with a number of vehicle kinds and was constructed on Jiuzhang’s intelligent platform and Hongqi’s Tiangong pure electric platform. It has a low-temperature battery pack that charges to 80% capacity in 5 minutes and maintains 98% capacity at -10°C. Tire sizes range from 19 to 21 inches, and customers can select between single-tone and dual-tone body colors. Air suspension, rear privacy glass, and rooftop lidar are optional features.
The interior features a five-seat arrangement with high-end materials including wood grain accents and leather upholstery. A unified digital instrument cluster and multimedia display are integrated into the dashboard. Traditional door handles are replaced by button-operated mechanisms, and utility is improved by features like wireless phone charging and a hollowed-out storage compartment. A dual-focal AR-HUD, a Dolby Atmos audio system, and a flat-bottom steering wheel are extra features.
With 100 TOPS of processing capability, the Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride SoC powers an end-to-end algorithm from DJI Automotive in the Tiangong 08’s premiere of Hongqi’s “SimNav High-Level Intelligent Driving System.” The system offers intelligent parking assistance and helps urban NOA.
With a top speed of 200 km/h, the powertrain options include a dual-motor all-wheel drive with 202 kW front and 253 kW rear motors and a 253 kW single-motor two-wheel drive. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and ternary lithium packs are available battery options. The single-motor version’s range with the 111 kWh ternary lithium battery is 730 km (CLTC), while the dual-motor version’s range is 680 km (CLTC). Details about the LFP battery are still unknown, however there will also be a battery replacement version available.
Additionally, the Tiangong 08 will be sold abroad under the Hongqi EHS7 name. European pre-sales will begin at 53,999 euros (55,480 USD).
