HHRD Recognizes PCP’s Impact
During the visit, Dr. Syed Muhammad Ilyas, the CEO of PCP, discussed the organization’s achievements, ongoing needs, and plans for future expansion. He pointed out that approximately 25 million people in Pakistan live with physical disabilities, primarily resulting from accidents. Dr. Ilyas emphasized the urgent need to establish rehabilitation centers in major cities across Pakistan, modeled after PCP.
He also highlighted the center’s innovative approach to rehabilitation, which focuses not only on medical treatments but also on customized assistive devices like wheelchairs and bicycles, tailored to each patient’s needs. These efforts aim to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities (PWDs).
HHRD’s Commitment to Support
The head of Helping Hand USA praised Dr. Ilyas for his dedication and acknowledged the critical role PCP has played in Pakistan’s history of disaster recovery, particularly during the devastating earthquakes and floods. He reaffirmed HHRD’s commitment to supporting the center’s work, pledging further assistance to help expand its reach and continue its vital services.
