G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant says many Ambanis and Adanis are needed for India’s growth
Kant praised the G-20 presidency as a fantastic opportunity to interact with businesses and become a vital part of the global supply chain.
One (Mukesh) Ambani or one (Gautam) Adani would not suffice, but many such businessmen are required for the country to grow, according to Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa. In a speech to industry stakeholders, he stated that “10,000 Ambanis” and “20,000 Adanis” will aid India’s development.
Kant praised the G-20 presidency as a fantastic opportunity to interact with businesses and become a vital part of the global supply chain.
“So take advantage of the G-20 opportunity to become big, bigger, and biggest in your field. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity “During an interactive session at the PHD House in New Delhi, he added.
Kant, who previously served as the CEO of NITI Aayog, also discussed a challenge for India as it seeks to grow in the coming years.
“If India has to grow at 9 to 10% per year for three decades, all of you have to grow at 30 to 40% per year—that is India’s challenge.” Without the private sector growing all of these, we must remember that the G20 is not just about government. “India will not prosper unless you grow and prosper,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
He stated that because India is taking over the G20 presidency in the midst of global challenges, the country’s effective action can turn any challenge into an opportunity.
“India will set the agenda for the rest of the world to follow. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for India to shape the global narrative and provide an Indian vision based on our ancient civilization, “He stated.
He stated that the G20 provides an excellent opportunity to help the world heal during difficult times and return it to a path of peace and prosperity.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the logo and theme for India’s G20 presidency on Tuesday, saying the responsibility comes at a “time of crisis and chaos in the world.”
Prior to the G20 Summit, India will host approximately 200 meetings related to the finance and sherpa tracks across the country, focusing on a variety of issues ranging from new digital payment methods, including virtual assets and cryptocurrencies, to international financial architecture, and tax issues.
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union are G20 members. During its presidency, India has hosted Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, and the UAE.
