Officially speaking, the Ford Mustang is 60 years old. To commemorate, Charlotte, North Carolina will have a unique event organized by the manufacturer. The 60th Anniversary Package is a new trim that is also being released.
It should be noted that this is merely an appearance bundle. However, Ford deserves some credit for this stylish outfit that makes a statement without being either garish or obtrusive. Most likely, the wheels will catch your attention right away. These 20-inch pieces have a straightforward five-spoke design that is largely influenced by 1965 styles. In a time of intricate “snowflake” wheel designs, it’s a welcome difference. Of course, this package isn’t just a neat set of wheels.
See those low-profile side stripes and 5.0 badges? Both those and the GT emblem on the trunk are based on designs from the 1965 model. The nostrils have silver highlights to make them stand out, and the front has a distinctive grille with a throwback mesh design. The extra-shiny side mirror caps are a striking contrast to the smoked headlights from the Mustang Nite Pony package. However, the brilliant silver replicates that timeless style. That is, unless you want to have the mirrors body color on a white Mustang.
Speaking of colors, you can only get the 60th Anniversary Package in Race Red, Vapor Blue, or the previously stated white. The interior color choices include gray, red, or black, and the side stripes are available in red or silver. On the instrument panel, there’s also a unique 60th anniversary badge that has been serialized.
Everything under the surface is identical to that of a new Mustang GT. The 480 horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 engine is mated to a six-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission to power the back wheels. You are not going to get the package on an EcoBoost or even a regular GT. Only the GT Premium trim is offered. At least you have the option of a fixed or convertible roof.
For obvious reasons, Ford will only produce 1,965 Mustangs with the 60th Anniversary Package. When the 2025 model arrives at dealerships at the end of the year, pricing will be revealed.
