The European Solheim Cup group is set.
Eight qualifiers were reported two days prior, and presently skipper Suzann Pettersen has balanced her crew with four trump card picks — Madelene Sagstrom, Gemma Dryburgh, Emily Kristine Pedersen and Caroline Hedwall.
Sagstrom, a local of Sweden, will play in her third Solheim Cup and her most memorable on European soil. It’s been a down year for the 30-year-old, with two top-10s in 14 LPGA begins.
Scotland’s Dryburgh, 30, acquired her lady LPGA win last year in Japan, and followed that this season by making 14 out of 16 slices on the way to her most memorable Solheim Cup gesture.
Pedersen, as Sagstrom, will make her third Solheim start and first in Europe. The 27-year-old Dane’s best outcome this season is a T-16 at the LPGA Drive On Title in Spring; be that as it may, she’s positioned eighth in driving distance on visit this year, one spot behind Sagstrom.
Hedwall will play in her fifth Solheim Cup. The 34-year-old Swede generally plays on the Women European Visit, where she has three top-10s this year.
Those four players will join Celine Boutier (France), Maja Distinct, (Sweden), Charley Structure (Britain), Leona Maguire (Ireland), Georgia Corridor (Britain), Linn Award (Sweden), Carlota Ciganda (Spain) and Anna Nordqvist (Sweden) in the group.
The matches will happen on Sept. 22-24 at Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, Spain
