Google Maps is releasing speedometers and speed restriction indicators for CarPlay and iOS. In line with the report. Whereas Waze has had both features since 2016, Android has had them since 2019. Users of iPhones can now use them to determine their speed while using Google Maps.
In Google Maps, tap your profile photo and select Settings > Navigation to activate it. You can see the switches for the speedometer and speed restriction features by swiping down to the Map display area. The speedometer will show up in the lower left corner of the screen when it is enabled. The speedometer will change colors to alert you to the need to slow down if you exceed the posted speed limit.
The speedometer is for “informational use only,” according to Google, and shouldn’t be used in place of your car’s actual speedometer. This is due to the possibility that the speed displayed on Google Maps may not match your actual driving speed.
In the next weeks, Google plans to launch the new speeding tools globally. iPhone users in India have been observed utilizing them.
