With the presentation of its array of new 2024 Dodge Charger sports cars, Dodge on Tuesday claimed to have unveiled the “world’s first and only electric muscle car”.
With an electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack that can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds, the business claims it can deliver up to 670 horsepower and maintain “its title as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car.” This vehicle is part of the new Charger series. With an estimated range of 260 miles, it also boasts the fastest quarter-mile elapsed time among muscle vehicles, at 11.5 seconds.
Additionally, Dodge said that the Charger Daytona R/T, an all-electric vehicle with 496 horsepower and an estimated 317 miles of range, will be added to the portfolio. When using a 350-kW fast charger, the charging capacity operates at an estimated 8.1 miles per minute for the Daytona Scat Pack and 9.9 miles per minute for the Daytona R/T.
“The electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance and announces its presence through the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, while Hurricane engine-powered Dodge Charger Sixpack models will give the Brotherhood of Muscle a gas option that produces better horsepower and torque numbers than the outgoing 5.7- and 6.4-liter HEMI engines,” said Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand CEO, in a press release.
The 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the Dodge Charger Scat Pack and R/T models may be personalized with tabs to access media such as SiriusXM, TomTom navigation, Amazon Alexa, and more.
Additionally, they come with an optional enhanced head-up display that offers better virtual picture distance and projects a wide field of view. The instrument clusters on the two new Charger models are 16 inches and 10.25 inches, respectively.
Midway through 2024, Dodge, a Stellantis subsidiary brand, intends to start building two-door coupe versions of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack and 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T.
The first quarter of 2025 is when the manufacturing of the four-door vehicles is expected to commence, along with the production of the gas-powered Charger Sixpack H.O. two-door and Charger Sixpack S.O. four-door models.
In Ontario, Canada, the Windsor Assembly Plant will produce brand-new Dodge Chargers.
The all-electric Charger Daytona models and the cleaner-running Hurricane engine-powered Charger Sixpack offers were unveiled by Stellantis, the international carmaker that owns subsidiary brands, including Dodge. These announcements are in line with the company’s Dare Forward 2030 business plan.
Stellantis intends to lead the transportation sector in achieving net carbon zero by 2038. To that end, the strategy plan calls for electrified and more efficient propulsion technologies to enable the company reduce its worldwide carbon footprint by 50% by 2030.
