Disney’s Six Biggest Films, Out in 2024
The company’s recent triumphs in reaction to Nelson Peltz’s attempt at a board coup were emphasized in Disney’s March 2024 shareholder presentation slides. Disney also highlighted its six largest films from its various studios that it will distribute and release in 2024.
1. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes – May 10, 2024
May 10 will see the release of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, a film by 20th Century Studios.
Set some 300 years after Caesar’s rule, the film stars Owen Teague, Freya Allen, Kevin Durand, and Peter Macon.
Proximus Caesar, a new ape leader, will utilize Andy Serkis’s Caesar lessons from the first three Planet of the Apes films out of context in order to carry out his terrifying rule over the other ape clans.
2. Inside Out 2 – June 14, 2024
The voices of Joy, Sadness, and Anger, respectively, will be reprised by Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, and Lewis Black in Pixar’s Inside Out 2, which is scheduled for release on June 14.
At least four new emotions—anxiety, envy, embarrassment—will be introduced in Riley Andersen’s journey during the course of the 2015 film Inside Out 2, which is slated to take place several years after the events of the original film.
3. Wolverine & Deadpool – July 26, 2024
The sole 2024 release from Marvel Studios will mark the official entry of Hugh Jackman’s Logan, also known as Wolverine, and Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, into the MCU.
After debuting during the Super Bowl, the official trailer for the movie had 365 million views in its first day of distribution, making it the most watched trailer ever.
Deadpool & Wolverine, as the name implies, will follow the two main characters as they engage with the Time Variance Authority, as demonstrated in both of Disney+’s Loki seasons.
The movie Deadpool & Wolverine is coming out on July 26.
4. Alien: Romulus – August 16, 2024
When Alien: Romulus is launched on August 16, 2024, it will immerse fans in one of the most recognizable horror franchises ever.
Starring Cailee Sapeny and Isabela Merced, the film will take place in between the first two Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986) films in the franchise.
5. Moana 2 – November 27, 2024
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui and Chloe Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana will return in the Moana sequel.
In the next film, Moana will travel across the sea to Oceania after receiving a call from her ancestors.
November 27 is when Moana 2 is scheduled to be released.
6. Mufasa: The Lion King
The next Mufasa film is slated to be a prequel to the 2019 live-action remake of The Lion King, which employed the same photorealistic computer graphics as that film.
The narrative, which stars Aaron Pierre, John Kani, Billy Eichner, and Seth Rogen, will recount the events leading up to The Lion King as well as the story of Mufasa’s ascent to power.
Mufasa: Disney’s Lion King, which is scheduled for release on December 20, will round up the year.
