Disney Animated Films Release Dates Set for Frozen 3
Disney has formally announced the release dates for a few of its upcoming films, including the eagerly awaited Frozen III and Hoppers, the next animated feature from Pixar.
When are Hoppers and Frozen 3 coming out?
The most recent calendar announcements from Disney state that Hoppers will be released on March 6, 2026, while Frozen III will be formally released on November 24, 2027. The original release date of Frozen III was slated for 2026; however, it has been pushed back by one year.
At this past weekend’s D23 festival, Pixar officially revealed Hoppers, the upcoming film starring Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, and Piper Curda. The film centers on a young girl who is attempting to penetrate the animal realm by projecting her thoughts onto a robot beaver.
Regarding Frozen II, stars Kristen Bell (The Good Place), Idina Menzel (Murder on the Orient Express), and Josh Gad (Murder on the Orient Express) returned, and Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) and Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld) were added. Not much is known about Frozen III. Under the direction of Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, the film made $1.453 billion when it was released in theaters in 2019.
Pete Docter of Pixar discussed the company’s future intentions with Entertainment Weekly in June. He said that the company was planning two original films, the first of which is Elio, co-directed by Adrian Molina of Coco, and the second of which is Toy Story 5, which is scheduled for release on June 19, 2026. There are plans for “some more original” movies after that.
