The film skillfully crafts a tale that spans millennia by fusing futuristic apocalyptic settings with ancient Indian Hindu mythology. The plot revolves around the mysterious coming of Kalki, the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu, from the ancient era of the Mahabharata in 3102 BC, which marked the beginning of Kali Yuga, to the far future of 2898 AD.
