Daniels, Directors of ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once,’ Announce Next Film for 2026

In 2026, the Oscar-winning filmmakers Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, also referred to as Daniels, will release their motion picture sequel to “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

With the recent signing of an exclusive first-look agreement with the filmmakers, Universal Pictures has added a “Untitled Event Film Directed by Daniels” on June 12, 2026, to its release schedule. There are no details about the movie at all, including a title, genre, or cast list.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once,” the crazy sci-fi, adventure, and comedy film from the directing team, received support from A24 and went on to become the first independent film to gross $100 million worldwide at the box office since the pandemic. Michelle Yeoh plays a struggling laundry owner in the film who, while facing an IRS audit, learns she must make connections with alternate versions of herself in order to avert a catastrophic collapse. Seven Oscars were won by it, including best picture.

Despite their meteoric rise to fame with “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Daniels and Wong have produced a body of work spanning television, film, and music. Their first major credit was directing the hit music video for “Turn Down for What” by Lil Jon. They went on to win the best directing prize at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival with their film “Swiss Army Man,” which starred Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe.

Chief executive Donna Langley of the studio commended the pair as artists who had “evolved their craft with a distinct vision and singular voice that is unmistakable” as they secured their deal with Universal.

“Their films are remarkably theatrical and with only two original projects under their belts, they’ve merely scratched the surface of what they are capable of as filmmakers,” Langley said in 2022.
