Citroen Basalt Revealed: Five Key Highlights
1 Color and exterior options:
For the Indian SUV market, Citroen’s Basalt SUV comes in six different color options. Depending on the particular trim level selected, the SUV will also have two alternative alloy wheel designs. It has matte black wheel arch covering and a 2.64-meter wheelbase.
2 Built on the C-Cubed platform:
The third model in Citroen’s C-Cubed lineup, the Basalt was introduced with the express purpose of catering to the markets in South America and India. Like the C3 and C3 Aircross, the Basalt coupe-SUV is constructed on the Smart Car Platform and has certain characteristics in common with the Aircross.
3 Powertrain options:
Two 1.2-liter gasoline powerplants are available for the Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV. The naturally aspirated engine produces 82 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque and is only compatible with a manual five-speed gearbox. With two gearbox options, the second power unit produces 110 horsepower of power thanks to turbocharging. A six-speed torque converter allows the Basalt to produce 205 Nm of torque, while the six-speed manual only produces 190 Nm.
4 Fuel efficiency and safety:
The turbocharged engine will deliver 19.5 kmpl with the manual and 18.7 kmpl with the TC, according to Citroen, while the NA power unit will provide 18 kmpl. As standard equipment, the Citroen Basalt will have six airbags, TPMS, an electronic stability program, and hill hold aid.
5 Interior:
A new HVAC control panel with auto air conditioning and rear air vents is installed in the Basalt. Additionally, segment-first adjustable thigh support is added to the second row. In addition, the cabin has six airbags, center armrests for each rows, and a wireless charging. Higher spec models come with a seven-inch completely digital driver’s instrument cluster, while the 10.25-inch floating infotainment display from the C3 Aircross is retained.
