Chery’s New iCar Brand Introduces the iCar V23, the 2nd EV Model, with a Starting Price of $13,700

The second EV model from Chery’s new iCar brand, the iCar V23, was released after the iCar 03, the company’s debut model, was introduced at the end of February.

At an event yesterday, iCar unveiled the iCar V23. Later this month, the small, all-electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) with an off-road SUV-like body will start to be delivered.

Three different models of the iCar V23 are available, and their starting prices are RMB 99,800 ($13,700), RMB 109,800, and RMB 139,800, respectively.

The SUV has a wheelbase of 2,735 mm and dimensions of 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height. The measurements are comparable to those of the Yuan Plus from BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), which has a wheelbase of 2,720 mm and dimensions of 4,445 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height.

A single electric motor positioned on the back of the two less expensive iCar V23 models has a maximum power of 100 kW and a maximum torque of 180 Nm. It takes 4.8 seconds for both versions to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h.

With a combined power of 155 kW and a maximum torque of 292 Nm, the most expensive model also features a front electric motor with a peak power of 55 kW. This version takes 3.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 50 kilometers per hour.

Three battery pack configurations are available for the model: a 47.28 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, a 59.93 kWh LFP battery, and an 81.76 kWh lithium ternary battery.

The CLTC ranges that correspond to these are 301, 401, and 501 kilometers, respectively.

When using fast charging, the model can be charged from 30% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip that powers the iCar V23’s cabin allows voice control and CarPlay.

The Journey 3 chip from Horizon Robotics, which includes highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) features, powers its intelligent driving system.
