CBS has pulled out of the FBI season after a Texas school shooting that killed at least 19 children and two adults, according to local officials.
The end of season four of the Dick Wolf-produced show was scheduled to air on Tuesday, the same day Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed that a gunman had opened fire at Rob Elementary School in Uvalde, about 85 miles west of San Antonio.
The FBI’s final round included a story about a student’s possible involvement in a fatal robbery. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
CBS will still air the season finale of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.
The FBI, which launched in September 2018, was created by Wolf and Craig Turk. It stars Missy Peregrim, Zico Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd and Catherine Renee Turner.
After the Texas shooting, Abbott addressed the media and confirmed that the 18-year-old gunman was dead. “He shot and killed 14 students, terribly, incomprehensibly and killed one teacher,” Abbott said, referring to the death toll at the time.
Two weeks ago, a gunman killed 10 black people at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in what authorities called a hate crime.
