Brahmastra Box Office: Alia Bhatt climbs to second place in Bollywood’s Rs. 200 crore club, with two films to her credit

Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, was released in theatres over a week ago. The film, which was released on over 5000 screens in India, was met with high hopes and expectations. Brahmastra lived up to expectations, debuting with a bang and experiencing rapid growth over its first weekend. Following this, Brahmastra’s business remained strong even during its first week.

Brahmastra’s business has grown even more in its second weekend, surpassing Rs. 200 crore in just 10 days since its release. With a gross of Rs. 208 crore, Brahmastra has become Alia Bhatt’s second film to enter the exclusive Rs. 200 crore club. Indeed, with the success of Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt now joins the ranks of Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Kiara Advani, who each have two films in the Rs. 200 crore club.

If that wasn’t enough, Alia Bhatt now ranks second in Bollywood’s Rs. 200 cr club, trailing Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who each have three films that have crossed the Rs. 200 cr mark.

As of now, Brahmastra is still playing in theatres, and with little to no competition, the film’s business is expected to expand. Indeed, trade predictions state that given the film’s current momentum, it will come as no surprise if Brahmastra closes the gap to the Rs. 250 crore mark by the end of its second week.
