The BMW X3’s new long-wheelbase model was just introduced in China
The BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture will operate a plant in Shenyang to build the 25L xDrive and 30L xDrive versions of this special edition X3. Additionally, BMW will market the new vehicle in China under the standard wheelbase M50 xDrive configuration, which is manufactured in Spartanburg, North Carolina.
The global model that debuted in June and the Chinese X3 share almost the same design. This indicates that, although being in a slightly elongated container with a 110 mm (4.3-inch) larger wheelbase, it has rather straightforward and uncomplicated exterior lines and features. China’s X3 measures 4,865 mm (191.5 inches) in length and 1,920 mm (75.6 inches) in width overall. The M Sport Package, which comes standard on the X3 25L xDrive, gives it a marginally sportier look. Each variant comes with six different paint finishes, including a Frozen option, and an illuminated kidney grille.
All of the new amenities that will be available elsewhere in the 2025 X3 are also present in the cabin. This incorporates the dashboard’s BMW Interaction Bar, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and the sizable BMW Curved Display. Three two-tone color “Veganza” sports seats, wireless smartphone charging, and a panoramic glass top with optional lighting are all included as standard features.
Two 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder X3 variants are built in China. This engine can produce 190 horsepower (140 kW) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) of torque when used in the X3 25L xDrive. However, when used in the X3 30L xDrive, the engine can produce 258 horsepower and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm). Intelligent all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are matched to both options.
