Ford’s extensive makeover has given the Maverick fresh vitality. One of the most anticipated improvements is the addition of an all-wheel drive option for the well-liked hybrid powerplant.
Completed the updates include a redesigned front end, a much bigger infotainment screen, and a redesigned lineup that includes a special Tremor variant.
A 2.5-liter self-charging hybrid powerplant with 191 horsepower (142 kW / 194 PS) is the standard powertrain. It has a CVT gearbox and may be driven with front- or all-wheel drive. An optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine with 238 horsepower is only offered with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission for individuals looking for additional power.
The revised grille, modified bumper, and reshaped headlights are the main features of the external makeover. Base XL, mid-level XLT, luxury Lariat, and the off-road-focused Tremor—which was originally an option package—make up the lineup.
Certain style elements set each trim level apart. For instance, the Tremor has orange accents, but the Lariat has 19-inch wheels. Across the range, a new Black Package with a blacked-out grille, roof, emblems, and wheels is an option. In keeping with the appearance, Ford has also unveiled a new color scheme.
New infotainment system
For the 2025MY, the inside has seen considerable upgrades. The dashboard is dominated by a new 13.2-inch touchscreen that took the place of the old 8-inch model. The SYNC4 infotainment system from Ford is integrated into this larger display, which also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the new 8-inch digital instrument cluster will be appreciated by drivers. Fresh interior color and material options have been introduced by Ford to go along with the tech advancements.
The adaptable 4.5-foot Flexbed of the Maverick maintains its usefulness with features like separators, integrated storage pockets, a power outlet, and a multi-position tailgate.
The AWD Hybrid’s maximum payload is rated at 1,500 pounds (680 kg), whereas the ICE-only Tremor’s payload is rated at 1,140 pounds (517 lb). The towing capability is 2,000 pounds (907 kg), which doubles to 4,000 pounds (1,814 lb) with the optional 4K Tow Package. This is the same as the outgoing model.
Cost and availability
On August 1, Ford will begin taking bookings for the 2025 Ford Maverick, with delivery starting in late 2024. Prices for the front-wheel drive hybrid base model start at $26,295; delivery and destination fees of $1,595 are not included in this price.
