One of the top navigation apps in China, Amap, has formally released its first English-language map aimed at users outside. This innovative innovation marks a revolutionary change for China’s tourism sector by making it easier for non-Chinese speakers to navigate the nation. Only foreign users in China can view the English map, which is now in beta testing.
This functionality is currently under development and will be rolled out progressively following testing, according to Amap.
There is more to Amap than just maps
The usefulness of Amap is not limited to navigation. During the 2023 Mid-Autumn Festival, the site had 280 million daily active users at its height. It provides real-time traffic reports, restaurant reservations, electric vehicle charging station locations, and help with holiday travel. Its connection with Alibaba’s ecosystem, which links to websites like Ele.me, Fliggy, Alipay, and Koubei, making it a one-stop shop for customers looking for local services, food delivery, travel advice, and hotel reservations.
The platform’s smooth navigation and local services integration position it to become a vital resource for international travelers
