G-SHOCK Urban Utility Series Watches Unveiled: Casio’s  Eco-Friendly Watch Collection for Urban Living

Four models of the G-SHOCK Urban Utility series, which Casio is launching, combine eco-friendly materials, functionality, and durability for today’s urban customer.

Models and Design Elements

The traditional DW-5610UU and the more sophisticated GA-B2100LUU are the two primary model types in the series. Both collections use eco-friendly materials and emphasize robustness. Each model complies with Casio’s environmental objectives by using biomass plastic for the straps and bezel.

The DW-5610UU, which comes in gray and green, has an inverted LCD display for easy readability in low light and a layered bezel design. For improved visibility, it also has a Super Illuminator LED lighting.

The two-tone, dual-molded bezel on the GA-B2100LUU models, which come in beige and gray, provides visual depth. They come with a carbon-fiber reinforced case that keeps the watch lightweight and durable.

Technology and Functionality

Practical elements for daily use are included in the Urban Utility series. For increased resilience, both models have a Carbon Core Guard in addition to shock-resistant constructions. These timepieces are suitable for both everyday wear and rough activities because they are water-resistant up to 20 ATM.

Additionally, the watches have Bluetooth connectivity, which enables users to sync with the “CASIO WATCHES” app for functions like automatic time adjustment. In addition to reminders and a phone locator feature, users can access World Time for up to 300 cities. With the power-saving mode, the watches may function for up to 18 months without being exposed to sunlight. Both models feature Tough Solar technology for solar charging.

Cost and accessibility

In November 2024, the G-SHOCK Urban Utility series will make its debut in Japan. The GA-B2100LUU versions will retail for 25,850 yen (about $170), while the DW-5610UU variants will cost 15,400 yen (around $101).
