The trailer for Robert Kolodny’s upcoming sports biographical film, Featherweight, has been made public.

Official synopsis: The film, which takes place in the middle of the 1960s, tells the compelling true story of Italian-American boxer Willie Pep, the greatest fighter of all time. Pep is down and out in his mid-40s, and his personal life is in disarray when he decides to go back into the ring. At this point, a documentary camera crew follows him. The film offers a vivid depiction of the discontents of twentieth-century American masculinity, fame, and self-perception, and it was meticulously researched and made.

What date is the release of The Featherweight?

Starting on September 20, The Featherweight will be available for viewing at cinemas in Connecticut and New York. On September 27, it will be followed by its release in Los Angeles. The movie has a 100% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes after its global release.

Kolodny directs the movie based on a screenplay by Steve Loff. James Madio, star of Band of Brothers, will lead it as he plays renowned boxer Willie Pep. Bruce Carrington, the unbeaten professional boxer, is accompanied by Ruby Wolf (Tommy), Keir Gilchrist (Atypical), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Ron Livingston (Loudermilk), and Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (One Night in Miami). Produced by Loff, Maddio, Bennett Elliott, Robert Greene, and Asger Hussain, executive producers Jennifer Davisson, Michael Hampton, Steve James, Brian Liebman, Mark Hantoot, Donna Collins, and Angelo DeFazio.
