3 New SUVs Are Coming In The Next 12 To 15 Months
1. Skoda Compact SUV
The much anticipated arrival of Skoda’s small SUV in India in March 2025 has been hinted to. With a shorter wheelbase to suit the sub-4m category, this sub-four-meter SUV will be built on the specialized MQB A0 IN platform and share parts with the Kushaq. With a split headlamp configuration, slated grille, and clean lines, it is anticipated to have a design reminiscent of Skoda’s distinctive aesthetic, much like a scaled-down Kushaq.
The SUV’s 1.0L three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, similar to the one used in the Slavia and Kushaq, will provide 178 Nm of torque and 115 PS. A 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission will be available to buyers. There won’t be any other options available. This engine is renowned for its fuel efficiency and responsiveness.
The interior will mostly resemble the Kushaq’s but with added features such as a 360-degree camera and an ADAS suite. It is expected to be priced between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom) and will compete with models like the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Tata Nexon. The name has not been finalized yet, but it will follow the global scheme and will be one of the following: Kylaq, Kymaq, Kwiq, Kariq, Kyroq, Kosmiq, Kaiq, Kayaq, Kliq, or Karmiq.
2. New Gen Hyundai Venue
It is anticipated that the forthcoming Hyundai Venue (2025), codenamed Q2Xi, will significantly outperform its predecessor. It may solve the present space constraint, although it will probably be built on the platform of the current-generation Venue. Hyundai’s most recent design language can be seen in design characteristics that recall the Palisade and Creta facelift.
Rumor has it that the current engine options—1.2L NA gasoline, 1.0L turbo gasoline, and 1.5L diesel—along with the available transmissions—MT, iMT, CVT, and DCT—will remain. The redesigned Venue is currently scheduled for release in 2025 and will be produced at Hyundai’s Talegaon facility, which it purchased from General Motors in 2023. Prices could range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
3. Kia Syros
With the new Syros SUV, which is anticipated to cost approximately Rs 11 lakh, Kia is broadening its range of vehicles in India. Located between the Sonet and Seltos, it was formerly known as Clavis, but when Kia obtained the trademark, it is most likely going to be dubbed Syros. The Clavis name may be saved for the Syros EV variant.
The Syros will be available in gasoline and electric variants, with a hybrid vehicle perhaps coming soon. It has a distinctive look with boxy forms and contemporary LED lighting, such as LED headlamps and vertical LED daytime running lights. The electric Syros could go on sale in Q3 of 2025, with the gasoline version perhaps debuting in Q1 of 2025.
